Social media monitoring essentially provides you with alerts every time your brand gets mentioned online.

In order to successfully execute social media marketing plans it is fundamental to firstly establish what people are saying about your brand/ company. This is often referred to as ‘Buzz Monitoring’. This will enable you to understand how much buzz share you have in your market, where your target customers communicate and what they like and don’t like about your company.

One of the fundamental rules of social media engagement is to not let any bad comments or feedback go unanswered. Once in a social domain comments can gather pace at an alarming pace and therefore it is important to address customers/users who have a criticism against your company or brand.

Furthermore lots can be achieved from the collective data, which is gathered. For example you can compare your brand against competitors, uncover the most influential posts, sort all posts by various things like most commented, or most Twitter followers and most views.
