Below are the key steps that you need to follow to set up and configure your Managed Exchange 2003 mailboxes:Step 1: Mission Control Username & Password
WebCentral's online self-service system, Mission Control, is the place to go to sign up for your new Managed Exchange service.
Existing customers should already have their Mission Control username and password. If you are unsure about these details, please call our Sales Team on 1800 800 099 (ext. 1) and they will resend these details to the email address of the primary contact on your WebCentral account.
New customers will need to call our Sales Team on 1800 800 099 (ext. 1) to set up an account and receive a username and password for Mission Control.
Step 2: Check Your System Requirements
The current system requirements that are necessary for Managed Exchange are as follows:
Basic Access, Solo Access and Web Access
- Broadband
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or Internet Explorer 6.0 (preferred)
- Broadband
- Windows XP with Service Pack 1 and Hotfix Q331320*
*This hotfix is required if you wish to use RPC over HTTP to connect to WebCentral's Managed Exchange servers. We recommend that you use RPC over HTTP as it avoids connection problems when your ISP is blocking Port 135. Port 135 can be blocked by ISPs as it may be accessed by viruses and other malicious exploits. You can download the required patches at the Microsoft web site.

Activating Managed Exchange Add-Ons
BlackBerry Add-On: Once you have enabled your Managed Exchange mailbox, please log a job in Mission Control requesting for the BlackBerry Add-On to be enabled on your account. You will need to specify the mailbox(es) that this additional service will apply to and agree to our Terms & Conditions. You will then be contacted with the simple steps to configure your BlackBerry device. You will now be able to access your email, calendar and contacts via your BlackBerry.
100MB and 500MB Storage Add-On: You can activate as many 100MB/500MB Storage Add-Ons on your account as you require by logging a job in Mission Control. Please specify the number of Add-Ons you would like to purchase. Please note: Storage Add-Ons are applied at company level and contribute to the total monthly Managed Exchange storage allocation for that account. There is no way of assigning extra storage to a particular Managed Exchange mailbox under an account.
- Q.How do I purchase mailboxes and the Blackberry add-on?

You can purchase Managed Exchange mailboxes with the Blackberry add-on by using the order form on our website or by logging in to your existing account.
- Navigate to Mission Control Accounts Management (MCAM)
- Click on Email in the Services section
- Select a mail product that supports Blackberry. (i.e. PC & Web Access or PC & Web Ultra Access)
- Click on Buy Email
- Enter the number of mailboxes to buy
- Enter the number of Blackberry Add-ons to add.
You do not have to purchase Blackberry Add-ons for all mailboxes if you don't want to. - Click Buy
A pop up will appear showing successful purchase. - Click Back to verify purchase.
- Click on the Service Management link to allocate Blackberry accounts to your users and to configure settings in Mission Control Service Management (MCSM).
Once you have purchased your products through MCAM you need to assign a user in MCSM.
- In MCSM click on All Users
- Select the user you wish to allocate from the list.
Click the drop down arrow to expand. - Click on Services
- Expand the Managed Exchange Service
Note: The status of the service is currently set as a grey circle as it is not provisioned yet. - Select the Managed Exchange product available and click Provision. The status of the user will turn green once provisioned.
You now need to follow the same procedure to provision the Blackberry Service. - Expand the Blackberry Service.

- Confirm the password.
Take a note of the password as this will need to be used to activate your handset. - Set the Password expiration if user would prefer more or less than the 48 hour default.

- Enter in activation password set in MCSM to activate.

Allocation a POP account product to a user
POP mail boxes will generally be bundled with your hosting package. Depending on the hosting level you can allocate a number of users to a pop account. The following steps will guide you through creating a new pop user.
- In Mission Control Accounts Management (MCAM) go to Quick Links
- Click on Service Management Area. This will link you to Mission Control Service Management (MCSM).
- Click on All Users from the quick links.
- Select the User you wish to allocate the mailbox to from the list.
You now need to select the POP account product available. You will find this product listed under the Managed Exchange service.
- Click on the drop down arrow adjacent to the Managed Exchange service.
- Click on the drop down arrow and select Standard Mail (POPX)
POP Account Setup (Microsoft Outlook)
- Open Outlook Client.
- Select Manually Configure Settings
- Select Internet Email
- Enter the following details:

User Information
Name - This is the name to be displayed when sending emails.
Email Address - The email address for the user. -
Server Information
Account Type - POP3
Incoming Mail Server - exchange.server-secure.com
Outgoing Mail Server - Please contact your ISP. -
Login Information
Username - This is the same as your email address.
Password - The password for the user account.

- Click Next to test account settings. If you have received two green ticks in the tasks, your email account has been successfully configured.

Set Up Microsoft Exchange - Automatic Configuration
You now need to access the .prf file or outlook profile which is an automated .exe file that will automatically set up the profile to your outlook client.
For administrators, you will need to impersonate the user to download file.
- In Mission Control Accounts Management (MCAM) go to Quick Links
- Click on Service Management Area. This will link you to Mission Control Service Management (MCSM).
- Once in MCSM click on Services
- Click on All Users from the quick links
- Select the User you wish to set up Microsoft Exchange. You can identify the level a user is on by hovering over the services icon.
- Click on the drop down arrow to expand
- Click Impersonate
- You will now find yourself in the impersonating screen. You can tell this by looking at the top right hand corner of the page. It will read "Impersonating - user name".
- Click on Services in the navigation menu
- Go to Exchange
- Go to Outlook Configuration
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to download Outlook Profile Setup
- Click Download
- A pop up will appear for Microsoft Outlook Setup Wizard. Click Next.
- Select the components to be installed. Click Next.
Note: You must be the administrator to select Configure Autodiscover - Enter password
- Re-enter password
- Click Next
- The path to download will select as default. Change location if required.
- Click Next
- Click Install
- Click Finish. The autorun will commence and the profile will be loaded to Outlook client.
Upon clicking finish, your outlook client will open with your installed profile.

Set Up Microsoft Exchange - Manual Configuration
To manually set up a Microsoft Exchange mailbox follow the steps to obtain the required settings for your mailbox.
The following steps are for the purpose of an administrator. For non-administrative please follow steps 7 and onwards.
- In Mission Control Accounts Management (MCAM) go to Quick Links
- Click on Service Management Area. This will link you to Mission Control Service Management (MCSM).
- Once in MCSM click on Services
- Click on All Users from the quick links
- Select the User you wish to set up Microsoft Exchange. You can identify the level a user is on by hovering over the services icon.
- Click on the drop down arrow to expand
- Click Impersonate
- You will now find yourself in the impersonating screen. You can tell this by looking at the top right hand corner of the page. It will read "Impersonating user name".

- Q.How do I set up Online Web Access (OWA) for POP and MEX?

Once you have allocated the mailbox to a user, follow the below steps to activate OWA
- In Mission Control Accounts Management (MCAM) go to Quick Links.
- Click on Service Management Area. This will link you to Mission Control Service Management (MCSM).
- Once in MCSM go to the User Management tab
- Click on All Users
- Select the User you want to set up web access for
- Click on the drop down arrow to expand the options
- Click on Services
- Select the mailbox level for the user.
For example, if you are setting up OWA for a pop account select Standard Mail (POPX). If you are setting up for a Managed exchange account select Managed Exchange.
For the sake of this module Standard Mail (POPX) has been selected. - When you click on the POPX account you will be produced with a drop down menu. Click on Service Settings
- A drop down menu is produced. Expand Outlook Web Access (OWA)
- Place a tick in the URL 2010. This will highlight the address.
- Select Apply Changes
- Copy the address and place in your browser:
https://exchange.server-secure.com/owa
Log in using your username (in most cases this will be your email address). Your password will be the same as your user account.
- Test your web mail by sending an email to confirm that you can send and receive mail.
- Q.My Blackberry add-on is not workicng
- A.
If you've setup your Blackberry add-on and are having problems connecting your device here are some ways you may be able to identify and fix the xproblem.
- Check if your mailbox has Blackberry enabled by logging in to Mission Control Account Management and selecting Email. Only PC & Web or PC & Web Ultra plans can have Blackberry enabled.
- Have both the mailbox and B;ackberry add-on been provisioned. If they have a green circle should appear next to the mailbox and the add-on.
- Has the activation password expired? Try logging in and resetting it.
